Get Out The Vote
The goal of this project was to create three different proposals for AIGA's "Get Out The Vote". The goal was for each proposal to be either practical, poetic, or persuasive. One proposal was to be created using only type and color, another proposal was to be created using type and raster image, and a third proposal was to be created using type and vector image. My chosen target audience was Gen Z's of voting age. I stuck with simple, short, to the point messages to appeal to the quick-paced teens of this generation. To see my inspiration and process click here.
For the poetic approach I created a participatory poster for the women of Gen Z. I used an image from the women's suffrage period and put a message on top that reads "as urgent now as it was then."

I chose to put this poster in a coffee shop because the teens and young adults of Gen Z frequent coffee shops to do work or school.

For my persuasive approach I kept the message short for Gen Z, known for having short attention spans. It simply reads "vote" and has an aesthetic to it that appeals to the generation.

I chose to put this poster on the wall in the FADS building lab since it would appeal to creative types that would be working there.

For the practical approach I chose to type a simple message on how to change the world in one easy step. I chose a bright yellow known as "Gen Z yellow" for its association to my audience, and for the bold color to catch the attention of people walking by.

I chose to put this poster on a post in a downtown shopping area since many teenagers like to shop and this yellow poster is likely to catch their attention.
